The Life Church Internship Program

The Life Church Internship Program is designed to provide the exposure, experience, and education necessary to build a foundation for your calling.  It will take place beginning June 2, 2019 - August 4, 2019.  Here's what to expect:


To build community within the church, beyond the internship program, with the opportunity to participate in a small group. Be apart of changing the lives of others in our community by serving in local outreach and a national missions conference led by Pastor Vernon.


Sharpen your gifts and talents and push past your comfort zone through one-on-one development with your assigned mentor. You'll also take ownership of tasks within your department and gain confidence in your leadership.


Learn directly from the leaders and staff members at The Life Church on a variety of topics that will stretch, grow, and equip you to succeed in your future.  This will also be a time to be exposed to the culture of TLC through internal staff meetings, teachings from executive leadership, and other leadership development opportunities.

Worship&Creative Arts Intern

As a TLC Worship&Creative Arts Intern, will assume the following responsibilities :

· Lead worship alongside worship leaders at campus worship experiences

· Receive leadership and talent development from our worship team

· Assist Worship Pastor with daily responsibilities

· Participate in ALL worship experience weekly rehearsals

· Research creative elements used for the weekly Worship Experience(s)

· Logistical planning for creative elements

It is HIGHLY recommended (but, not required) that each applicant have the following minimum qualifications :

· 1-2 years experience in serving in a worship and arts capacity (I.e. previously have serve on a worship team or band, choir, etc.)

· Adaptable; willing and open to change, be flexible in a variety of situations.

· Effective oral and written communications skills.

· Ability to work in fast-paced environment


Children’s Pastor Intern

Seeking summer intern who will assist with the overall vision and mission of the Children’s Ministry. The intern will work closely with the Children’s Pastor in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes writing curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices.

· Meet with the Children’s Pastor to share, plan for the week, pray, and follow up on any questions

· Coordinating Heartbeat Sunday Experience

· In consultation with classroom Leads, you will have the opportunity to organize & implement a Lesson Plan for kids 1-11 years of age.

· Facilitate weekly programming (activities, crafts and Bible lesson)

· Recruit volunteers to assist & communicate so they are prepared for Sunday


Summer Camp Director Intern

Seeking summer intern who is a passionate, caring, and responsible individual with a desire to see children from the community and the church engage with a fun, Christ-centered, and academically focused summer camp. Opportunities to gain experience in child-focused program planning, implementation and management will also be available.

· Meet with the Children’s Pastor to share, plan for the week, pray, and follow up on any questions

· Assist in coordinating 10 week summer camp

· Work closely with the Children’s Pastor to organize & run a Summer Camp of approximately 50 - 60 children

· Develop curriculum and assist with logical support


Pastoral Team Intern

The Pastoral Team Intern will have an opportunity to be exposed to the diverse responsibilities associated with Pastoral care and leadership. Working directly with our Connections Pastor, opportunities will be available to assist with both the administrative and corporate leadership areas like:

Small Group Leadership and Ethos, Pastoral Care and Counsel, Assimilation, and Communication.

The Pastoral Team intern should have a passion and interest in strategic thinking, organizational development, and building relational equity.


Operations & Admin Support Intern

The Operations and Admin Support Intern will work directly with the Director of Operations to assist with the execution of projects related to facilities and calendar management, training and development, system design and other church administrative functions. The Operations and Admin Support intern will need skills related to systems thinking, organizational development, and relational equity to build working relationships with Staff, Leaders and Volunteers.


Audio Visual Intern

The Life Church Audio Visual team primary responsibility, is to support and enhance our worship & event experiences through the creative use of AV technology.

The Audio Visual Intern will primarily work with the AV Director and team to support administratively and technically throughout our five different areas of AV:

Sound, Videography, Lighting, Media & Creative.

The successful intern candidate must demonstrate a strong passion for serving God’s people through AV, humility and openness to collaborate, and at least one year of AV experience in any of the five technical areas mentioned above.
